Inverse Condemnation

Inverse Condemnation is a term used in the law to describe a situation in which the government takes or damages private property but fails to pay the compensation. In order to be compensated, the owner must then sue the government.

Brekhus Law Partners has worked with many property owners in claims against local, county and state governmental bodies regarding land seizure, flooding, drainage, retention of possession and deprivation of access enabling clients to be compensated for the diminution of property's value, utility and marketability.
